Kent Nishimura (b. 1985) is a National Photographer for the Los Angeles Times, based in Washington, DC. Mr. Nishimura has years of experience covering national news, natural disasters, and politics as a freelancer and as a newspaper staffer.

Prior to joining The Times, he was a frequently commissioned freelance photographer, based in the middle of the Pacific, with an extensive client list that includes The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, Sports Illustrated, WIRED, and Hana Hou! The Magazine of Hawaiian Airlines, to name a few.

His work has been recognized by Pictures of the Year International, the National Headliner Awards, American Illustration and American Photography (AI-AP) and the National Press Photographers Association, among others. His resume can be viewed here.
